With a background in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India, and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Newcastle University, Pranav brings a unique blend of technical and practical knowledge to his role. His core responsibilities at Occuity include the management of device risk documentation, internal and external risk management activities, and support for device design and manufacturing investigations. Pranav will also be a valuable contributor to internal and external audits.

Beyond his professional expertise, Pranav has already proven to be a valuable addition to the team, infusing the workplace with energy, a strong work ethic, and a friendly disposition. These are all qualities which are bound to foster a positive and highly productive atmosphere.

We had a chance to catch up with Pranav and reflect on his experiences being part of the quality team at Occuity and what project excites him the most.

How did you get involved in Occuity and why did you feel it was the right thing for you?

First, let me start by saying that I’m absolutely delighted to be a part of the Occuity team! It feels special to be a part of such an amazing, hardworking and dedicated team driven by their passion to rise to the top.

I first came across Occuity when my friend Ashlesha joined the company. When I read about the products, the mission and the motivation of the company as well as hearing Ashlesha mention the excellent work culture at Occuity, I was immediately attracted to the project. Unfortunately, back then there weren’t any positions available.

I felt a strong connection with the company in terms of its ambitions, short- and long-term goals, passion for making the world a better place, and the drive to excel. So, when the opportunity arose to apply for a Quality Engineer role, I seized it with both hands!

What is your position at Occuity and why is your role important?

I have joined the company as a Quality Engineer. As the title may suggest, I’m here to make sure that everything maintains the ‘quality’ standard that Occuity expects. I’m responsible for ensuring that we validate the processes and equipment, ensure product safety, maintain traceability in the system, and collaborate with different departments to sustain quality and efficiency throughout the company.

What do you find most exciting or unique about Occuity's technology/products?

For me, the fact that the technology behind the products is aimed at making diagnosis and monitoring pain-free is uniquely exciting! Who wouldn’t want to make the world a little less painful? I’m just glad to be able to work for a company that aims to make this world a better place.

What do you believe sets Occuity apart from other companies in a similar field?

First, it would be the excellent work culture that Occuity maintains. The ‘employee-centric’ approach, which considers the best of the employee as the topmost priority is what sets Occuity apart from the rest.

Second, it would be the amazing management of the company. Everyone at the 'top' seems to be down to earth and easy to talk to at any point in time. The structure of the company is wonderful and easy to understand.

Do you want to work within an extremely high calibre team, who are all working together on cutting-edge technology to deliver world-leading products? If the answer is 'yes', then we want to hear from you. Keep an eye out on our careers site for open vacancies.
