Occuity is a Reading-based medical technology company developing innovative, non-contact optical devices for healthcare screening and monitoring. Our mission is to improve the lives of millions of people by transforming how some of humanity’s greatest healthcare challenges, including myopia, glaucoma, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease, are detected and monitored.
As we continue to develop our next generation of handheld medical devices, we are recruiting for three new positions within our engineering, R&D and manufacturing teams.
Fibre Splicer Technician – Medical Devices
We are looking for someone with excellent manual dexterity, strong attention to detail and an interest in precision optical work.
This exciting, entry-level role, will support the production of optical fibre assemblies used within our medical devices. Responsibilities will include fibre preparation, bonding, polishing, fusion splicing, inspection and testing.
R&D Technician – Medical Devices
This hands-on role will support the development and testing of our optical medical devices.
Working alongside our engineers and manufacturing technicians, the successful candidate will help assemble and test prototypes, collect data, inspect components and maintain laboratory equipment. The role will also involve rapid prototyping using technologies including 3D printing and CNC machining.
It is an excellent opportunity for someone with a scientific or engineering background who wants to build a career in medical device development.
Design Engineer – Medical Devices
We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to help develop our next generation of portable, handheld diagnostic devices.
The successful candidate will take ownership of aspects of mechanical design, create and test prototypes, optimise components for manufacture and support products through the development process towards mass production.
This is a broad, practical engineering role offering the opportunity to work across the full medical product lifecycle.
Join the Occuity Team
All three positions are full-time and based at our headquarters in Reading. Occuity offers a company pension, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, ongoing professional development and an employee share incentive scheme.
If you would like to help develop innovative medical technologies within a growing multidisciplinary team, we would like to hear from you.
