At Occuity, we’re delighted to announce an exciting new partnership that will extend the reach of our cutting-edge ophthalmic devices. Following a successful showcase at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) congress in Barcelona, we’ve appointed Skymed Ltd. as our exclusive distribution partner for Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
A Partnership Built on Shared Values
Skymed Ltd., based in Yavne, Israel, has been a respected player in the field of ophthalmology for over a decade, known for distributing high-quality medical devices to eye care professionals across the region. Their strong network, interest in innovation and new solutions, and deep expertise in ophthalmic technologies align perfectly with our mission to revolutionise eye care diagnostics through non-contact, handheld devices.
As the world’s first handheld, non-contact pachymeter, the PM1 Pachymeter represents a breakthrough in the measurement of central corneal thickness. This device allows eye care professionals to obtain fast, precise measurements without the need for anaesthetic eye drops or physical contact with the eye. It’s set to become an invaluable tool for glaucoma screening, refractive surgery, and corneal clinics.
By partnering with Skymed, we are confident that our technology will help clinicians in Israel and within the Palestinian Authority, including the West Bank and Gaza, to deliver more comfortable, efficient, and accurate care. The PM1 Pachymeter, for example, is not only faster and easier to use than traditional pachymeters, but also safer, as it eliminates the risk of cross-contamination – an issue we are increasingly mindful of in today’s healthcare landscape.
Tzah Kimchi, Executive Director of Skymed Ltd., shared his excitement about the collaboration, stating:
“We are proud to partner with Occuity to bring their state-of-the-art ophthalmic products to Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The PM1 Pachymeter is a remarkable device that will benefit a wide range of clinical settings, from glaucoma and refractive surgery clinics to general ophthalmology. We look forward to a successful collaboration and to enhancing the level of care provided to patients.”
Looking Ahead
With CE certification for the PM1 just around the corner, together with Skymed, we look forward to our cutting-edge solutions enhancing the quality of eye care in clinics across the region.
