We’re incredibly proud to share that Occuity CEO, Dr. Dan Daly has been selected to join UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on the official UK Government Trade Delegation to India - a landmark moment that recognises Occuity as one of the country’s most promising and innovative technology companies.

The visit, which includes some of the UK’s most dynamic businesses across technology, healthcare and finance — as reported in the Financial Times — highlights the importance of collaboration and innovation in tackling global challenges.
For Occuity, this is an incredible opportunity to showcase our pioneering handheld, non-contact optical technology on a world stage. Dr. Daly will be discussing how we’re using the eye as a window to the health of the body and harnessing the emerging science of Oculomics to transform how diseases such as diabetes, myopia, and Alzheimer’s are detected and monitored.
A Proud Moment for Occuity
Speaking ahead of the visit, Dan said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to be representing Occuity as part of this prestigious trade mission. It’s a fantastic opportunity to highlight not only the huge potential of our technology, but also the importance of the UK supporting innovative MedTech start-ups like ours. With the right backing, companies like Occuity can grow into world-leading exporters, creating technologies that genuinely change lives.”
Being invited on this trade mission is a testament to how far we’ve come since our founding in 2019 — from a bold idea to use light to unlock the health data within the eye, to an award-winning technology platform that’s already delivering real-world impact.
Unlocking Global Opportunities
India represents an especially exciting opportunity for Occuity. As one of the world’s fastest-growing healthcare markets, with a strong focus on preventive care, digital health and outreach, India is perfectly aligned with our mission to democratise healthcare.
Our handheld, non-contact devices — which require no consumables, are easy to use, and designed for screening at the point of care — are ideally suited to improve access not just in hospitals, but also in clinics, schools and rural communities where access to traditional equipment can be limited.
This trade mission provides an invaluable platform to meet with potential partners in engineering, manufacturing and clinical research, and to explore how Occuity’s technology can support India’s goal of making healthcare more accessible and affordable for all.

A Shared Vision for the Future
For Occuity, this moment isn’t just about commercial opportunity — it’s about being recognised as part of the UK’s innovation story. To be mentioned alongside some of the UK’s most prestigious and forward-thinking businesses is both humbling and energising.
It reinforces our belief that our mission — to transform health screening and monitoring through a simple, painless scan of the eye — is both meaningful and achievable.
Dan will also be using the opportunity to discuss Occuity’s groundbreaking work in myopia, diabetes and Oculomics with key members of both the UK and Indian Governments. With representatives from the Department for Business and Trade, the Department for Health and Social Care, and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology all joining the trip, it is a great opportunity to raise the profile of our work.
We’re immensely proud to be flying the flag for UK innovation in India, and we look forward to sharing updates from the trip as we continue to build partnerships and bring our technology to new markets around the world.
Stay tuned for more updates from Dan as we share insights, stories and opportunities from this exciting journey.
