We are delighted to share that Occuity has been named 'Innovator of the Year' at the Thames Valley Business & Community Awards.

It is a moment of real pride for the whole team.

The judges recognised Occuity for revolutionising healthcare diagnostics through groundbreaking, non-invasive optical technology. They highlighted our commitment to precision, research excellence and real-world clinical impact, noting that our approach has the potential to transform early detection and patient care globally. They also commended the way we combine scientific expertise with commercial vision, calling Occuity a truly deserving Innovator of the Year.

Those words mean a great deal to us. We have always believed that better diagnostics should be simpler, more accessible and less invasive. To see that mission acknowledged externally is hugely encouraging.

On to the national finals

As regional winners, we now progress to the Great British Business & Community Awards national finals, which will be held on 25 September 2026 at the Crowne Plaza in Marlow.

Reaching the national stage is an honour in itself. We look forward to representing the Thames Valley and showcasing what UK MedTech innovation can achieve.

A team achievement

Awards like this are never about one individual.

Our CCO Mark Jenkins and COO Sharon Branch proudly collected the award on behalf of the company. Their leadership across commercial operations, quality systems and delivery is central to everything we do.

Behind them stands an exceptional team:

  • Engineers who have developed and refined our non-contact optical technology to micron-level precision

  • Regulatory and compliance specialists navigating complex CE and international frameworks

  • Clinical and research collaborators ensuring our products deliver meaningful real-world outcomes

  • Operations, manufacturing and quality teams maintaining the highest standards

  • Commercial and marketing colleagues translating innovation into practical adoption

Building medical devices is complex. It requires patience, rigour and cross-disciplinary expertise. Every prototype iteration, regulatory submission, validation study and manufacturing milestone contributes to moments like this.

Dan Daly shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year

Alongside the company award, our CEO Dr.  Dan Daly was also shortlisted for Entrepreneur of the Year.

That recognition reflects the leadership, resilience and long-term vision required to build a regulated medical device company from the ground up. From early concept and prototype development through to CE marking, clinical validation and international commercialisation, Dan has steered the business with clarity and ambition.

Looking ahead

This award recognises progress, not completion.

Our focus remains firmly on bringing accessible, high-precision diagnostics to clinicians and patients worldwide. As we prepare for upcoming product launches and continue our growth journey, we do so with renewed confidence that our work matters.

Thank you to the organisers, judges and the wider Thames Valley business community for the recognition.

And most importantly, thank you to the entire Occuity team. This award belongs to all of you.
