Occuity at 100% Optical: Showcasing Innovation in Eye Care

Last week, I packed up some PM1s and one of our AX1 prototypes and headed to the Excel centre in London for this years 100% Optical, the UK's largest optical event. Representing Occuity, it was a privilege for me, to stand among the great team at Birmingham Optical, ready to meet the thousands of eye care professionals (ECPs) looking for solutions to their needs.

The atmosphere at the show was lively, a testament to the optical community's eagerness to embrace new technologies and approaches in eye health. This year was particularly special for us as we showcased the PM1 Pachymeter and the much-anticipated AX1 Axiometer. The transition from last year's tethered AX1 prototype to this year's model, which showcased the AX1 in its final form factor, was a pivotal moment for us. The evolution of our technology was on full display, illustrating our commitment to refining and improving our solutions to meet the needs of optometrists and patients alike.

The buzz surrounding the AX1 was palpable throughout the event with countless ECPs seeking us out, rather than simply stumbling upon us. As myopia management continues to gain momentum within the optical industry, the anticipation for the AX1's release is growing. Many visitors to our stand expressed their excitement about the device, underscoring the increasing interest and urgency in addressing myopia's global surge. The feedback was clear: for many, the AX1 can't arrive soon enough. (Of course, we want that more than anyone, and our team are working hard to bring it to market as soon as possible!)

The Birmingham Optical stand was a hive of activity, drawing a diverse crowd, from independent optometrists to representatives of large optical chains, all eager to see our innovative products.

The Birmingham Optical stand was a hive of activity, drawing a diverse crowd, from independent optometrists to representatives of large optical chains, all eager to see our innovative products. It was a pleasure to have our CEO, Dan Daly on the stand on Sunday and consultant Jason Higginbotham at the show, demonstrating our devices and engaging with attendees. Their expertise, along with my contributions and the support of our exceptional partners at Birmingham Optical, who graciously hosted us, made for a compelling showcase of our technology's potential.

Adding to the event's success, Alistair Bounds and Emily McPherson delivered a captivating presentation on Oculomics on the OSA stand, which was met with a full house. The interest in learning more about the eye's role in detecting systemic health issues and our approach to leveraging this for early disease detection was evident in the audience's engagement. We plan to record this presentation and share it more widely, extending the reach of this valuable information beyond the confines of the show.

100% Optical provided an invaluable platform for Occuity to share our vision for the future of eye care — a future where innovative devices like the PM1 and AX1 play a central role in transforming how we understand and manage eye health. As we reflect on this year's event, we are motivated more than ever to continue our work, ensuring that the AX1 and our other technologies meet the high expectations set by the optical community.

The journey ahead is bright, and with the continued support and interest from professionals across the industry, we are poised to make significant strides in myopia management and beyond. Here's to a future where our innovations contribute to healthier eyes and better vision for all.
