It’s with great delight that we can announce the promotion of Piotr Laszczak to Lead Embedded Software and Electronics Engineer. Piotr’s promotion will see him take on greater leadership responsibilities within the team, and lead on software and electronics engineering.
CTO and Co-founder, Robin Taylor commented:
“At Occuity, we aim to deliver a next generation of non-contact screening and monitoring devices that will revolutionise the way chronic diseases are diagnosed and managed. We are building an exceptional engineering team to drive forward our development and achieve this ambitious objective. Although Piotr has only been with us for a short time having joined the company in November 2020, in that time he has excelled in his role and has contributed significantly to the development of our core technologies. We are excited to be able to offer him this opportunity and look forward to seeing what he and his team can achieve.”
Piotr is an Alumni of the University of Southampton, where he first obtained a First Class Honors Master of Engineering in Ship Science and then a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
During these years his outstanding work enabled him to achieve multiple awards, such as the “William James” prize by the Institution of Engineering and Technology for the best biomedical journal paper titled "Development and validation of a 3D-printed interfacial stress sensor for prosthetic applications" in 2015.
Piotr is an innovator and researcher, a focused hands-on engineer with an eye for details and with experience in the development of complex electronic and electromechanical medical devices. Moreover, he has a great record of project management, technical leadership, teamwork and mentoring of graduate engineering.
Commenting on his new role, Piotr said:
“This opportunity is really exciting. In particular, it’s good to see that hard work pays off and is appreciated here at Occuity. Our team is growing fast and I’m looking forward to taking on new leadership responsibilities. It’s great to always remember that everything we do is based on our clear vision to solve some of humanity’s most pressing healthcare problems. This is the true motivating factor after all.”
