For the series “a chat with the team”: Nupur Bhattacharya

Nupur joined Occuity at the end of 2022 as HR & Recruitment Co-ordinator. With the company continuing to grow rapidly, it was necessary to bring on someone like Nupur to assist with the entire recruitment life-cycle to ensure we continue to attract the best talent.

She graduated with a Masters's degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Westminster, London and also holds a Level 7 CIPD certification. Her main area of interest is the influence of Artificial Intelligence in modern-day hiring and she was even a keynote speaker on this subject at my university.

Nupur started her career in training and development for a leading ITES provider and later worked at a staffing startup where she assisted in the setting up of an entire HR department including policies and processes. Thereafter, she worked for Gympac Fitness Systems (Precor), India, where she led the HR team in reviewing, restructuring, and rolling out HR policies across 6 locations

Nupur describes herself as an "enthusiastic, ambitious and creative person with a passion for HR."

We had a chance to catch up with Nupur and reflect on her experiences as HR & Recruitment Co-ordinator here at Occuity and what project excites her the most.

How did you get involved in Occuity and why did you feel it was the right thing for you?

I discovered Occuity on LinkedIn while exploring opportunities after completing my Masters in HR. The role caught my attention and as I went on to learn more about the company through its LinkedIn page and website, I was instantly intrigued. The company's innovative approach to ophthalmic devices and its commitment to constantly evolving and growing is what then made me want to apply for the role.

Occuity felt like the right place to work because it provided me with the two key things I was looking for – a growing organisation and excellent work culture.

What is your position at Occuity and why is your role important?

I am part of the HR and Recruitment team at Occuity and support the organisation in its human capital growth whilst also ensuring a healthy, inclusive workplace culture is maintained.

What excites you the most about your job and Occuity?

My role here provides me with the opportunity to use my HR acumen to contribute towards the growth of Occuity. The most exciting part of my role is being able to see the value and difference (big and small) my contributions can make in Occuity's growth story.

What do you think Occuity’s future will look like?

With the groundbreaking work Occuity is doing in the field of Optometry and Ophthalmology, there is no doubt that it will be the go-to company for thought leadership and innovation in this field.
