For the series “a chat with the team”: Hamza Achouri

Design & Development Engineering Intern
Hamza Achouri

Last month, Occuity warmly welcomed Hamza Achouri aboard as a Design & Development Engineering Intern. Hamza is a fourth-year student at CESI (Centre des Etudes Supérieures Industrielles) where he is specialising in mechanical and industrial engineering. With a passion for 3D modelling and design accompanied by a broad range of practical skills, he brings a dynamic, rigorous, and inventive approach to his internship. Hamza will be a valuable asset to our team until early February 2024, where he will be assisting in addressing a diverse range of engineering challenges, crafting innovative systems, and making meaningful contributions to our exciting projects. His inquisitive nature has already surfaced during his time at Occuity.

We had the opportunity to catch up with Hamza and discuss why he decided to embark on an internship at Occuity and what he hopes to gain from his time with us.

What aspects of Occuity's work and mission attracted you to apply for this internship?

Having already sought the fields of energy and industrial production as part of my two latest internships, the medical environment is clearly something I wanted to explore and get involved in; so when the opportunity to join Occuity came, I grabbed it with open arms. Something that also attracted me to the company was the element of freedom, I would have in my actions, allowing me to work in an autonomous way at times. This is something that definitely appealed to me as a young aspiring engineer.

What specific skills or experiences do you hope to gain or develop during your time as an intern at Occuity?

CAD and modelling skills for sure, as it will be the main point of my internship (which is what I was looking for), and align perfectly with my career aspirations as a future 3D engineer. Alongside the pure technical skills, I also look forward to immersing myself in a corporate environment that will facilitate the growth and development of my soft skills and interpersonal abilities.

Are there any particular engineering challenges or projects/products at Occuity that you find particularly exciting or interesting?

All of them to be honest. But I have to say the SD1 and G1 projects particularly attracted my interest as they are the latest ones and hence, in that way, the less developed ones, therefore making the challenge bigger, which is even more exciting for me as a new joiner and wanting to express my creativity as much as possible.

How does Occuity's focus on innovation and technology align with your career interests and aspirations?

Occuity’s goals seem pretty clear to me: improving the lives of everyone through medical innovation and continuous technological improvement. This particularly fits with what I am seeking and the path I would like to follow. I eagerly wish to learn new things every day through the several technological challenges Occuity has to offer, things that would eventually contribute to and allow me to be the best version of myself.

Do you want to work within an extremely high calibre team, who are all working together on cutting-edge technology to deliver world-leading products? If the answer is 'yes', then we want to hear from you. Check out our careers site.
